Working experiences and research
Since 1985 taken active part in the development of the present model of Danish Elderly Care.
Developed a model of early intervention and special support for persons with dementia.
Research in gerontology on coping strategies with frailty in old age. Download dissertation
For one year (1996-97) working in Japan as an expert of dementia care.
From 2000-2011 working at the Danish Knowledge Centre on Ageing.
In 2007 invited to Japan by the Japanese government, joining the “Civil Society Groups Development Programme”. See Certificate
Presently on contract with the Danish Ministry of Social Affairs as a specialist, treating persons with dementia and violent behaviour (BPSD). Read about VISO here

Today Annette Johannesen mainly works in ABLE, a private consulting service,
- Advising senior citizens about successful ageing, and
- Teaching care staff to cope with old people with aggressive behaviour, due to their dementia.
